Sayula is located approximately 100 kilometers south of Guadalajara on the road to Colima. Population is approximately 35,000. Sayula has many portals, the earliest of which was built just prior to 1647. Where Portal Colon now stands, there used to be an Indian Hospital that was built in 1578.
