MEXICO CITY

México City known as the Distrito Federal (D.F.) is the capital of México and seat of the federal government. It is separate from México's 31 municipally governed states. It is situated within a 571 square mile area at an altitude of 7,347 feet. México City has approximately 24 million inhabitants.
